Mom, the kids, and I escaped to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for a much needed excursion during Spring Break. We only went for two nights, but it was a great chance to spend some time with Mom and take the kids someplace new and exciting. We stayed at this really neat little place that was tucked into the hillside named Zoder's Inn. The place was awesome, with a creek running through it and an outside fireplace that just begged me to build a fire in the last night. They offered wine and cheese for the grown-ups and milk and cookies for the kids. Caitlin and Jared loved the indoor pool. They even had a chance to play racketball (while I enjoyed my wine and cheese!) Mom and I enjoyed the outlet mall, and we found some pretty nice things too. All in all, I would like to return to Gatlinburg when the weather is just a little bit warmer. There are so many things to do there, that a two night stay really didn't touch the surface.

Keith and I stayed at a hotel almost exactly like that when we visited Gatlinburg (probably 12 years ago). It was Feb or March and it felt like we were the only people there. But the hotel room overlooked the river and had a big fireplace, so it was romantic.
