We are home now from our week long trip to the Outer Banks. The beach house that we always stay at has undergone some really nice renovations, and we were very pleased with all that they have done. We visited the beach with our brother and sister-in-law and their three kids. We visited the Hatteras Lighthouse on Monday. I really enjoyed that, but it was a big hike to the top! The view from the top was amazing!
Mostly, we just hung out on the beach watching the kids play. Jared learned to boogie board this time, and he was so cute to watch. We brought all of our bikes with us this trip on the mulch wagon, and Rich has become quite the biker. He was going for 5 mile bike rides every morning before I had my first cup of coffee. So industrious! He even went out for a ride at home this morning. I am trying to convince him that he really should be wearing a helmet! My friend Julie and her son Jackson came down for a day trip to the beach on Thursday. It has been so nice seeing Julie more often, I only saw her once in ten years when she lived in Seattle.
While vacation with my family was a blast, it is so good to be back home. I think I'll go jump in the pool!
