The children and I took a little trip this week to visit some friends. We went to visit Ginni and her husband Vince in Richmond. Caitlin and Jared really enjoyed catching up with Caroline and Nicholas. We spent the day at their neighborhood lake and enjoyed a magic show and balloons at the nearby Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately, I forgot to get out my camera in Richmond. :(
On Wednesday, we packed up and headed to Norfolk to see Julie, Keith, and Jackson in their new house. It was great to see them, since they are now on the East Coast. They are 10 minutes from a cool beach on the Chesapeake Bay, which was so great for the kids since the waves were really mellow. We had a nice dinner Thursday night at Joe's Crab Shack on the Norfolk Waterside.
Friday morning, Julie and Jackson went to Jamestown Settlement with us for a little history lesson. I had never been there and really enjoyed it, but it was SO HOT! We only stayed a couple of hours and then had to head home. This week was such a great chance to see two of my dear old friends, and the kids enjoyed their time with Caroline, Nicholas, and Jackson. The kids and I decided that we'll have to make this an annual summer event!
